Either after a good work out or in the morning for a perfect breakfast pick-me-up Matcha Raspberries smoothie is a great option which is not only full of health benefits but is also the most fun to make.
So, if you are a smoothie lover who is always looking for creative yet deliciously healthy ways to make your morning or post workout smoothie then this recipe is not going to disappoint you. It is made with the flavorful combination of fruits, creamy frozen yogurt and the magic ingredient Matcha tea. If you are not aware of the benefits of matcha tea, let us quickly fill you in.
Matcha tea is a high source of antioxidants and L-theanine, a rare amino acid, that has plenty of its own benefits. Without any jitters, matcha tea gives a calm and more focused boost of energy for 4-6 hours and is the best healthy substitute for coffee. It could be your companion for work out, yoga or meditation as it gives a boost of energy while the presence of L-theanine stimulates alpha waves in the brain that promotes a state of relaxation and well-being.
1 tsp Matcha Moments Premium Grade Matcha Powder
½ cup coconut or almond milk
1/4 cup frozen yogurt (or frozen coconut yogurt for a more flavourful taste)
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
1 tbs honey or agave nectar (optional)
1 banana (or avocado for a creamy texture)
Begin with Matcha tea
Matcha tea will serve as a liquid base here with plenty of nutrients and a healthy boost full of antioxidants. All you have to do is add matcha powder in a bowl and pour coconut/almond milk over it then whisk it in a zig zag motion or you can simply make a mixture in the blender to be added later in the smoothie.
Blend it all together!
Now the easy step. You can add the rest of ingredients (including coconut yogurt, frozen raspberries, sweetener, banana/avocado) all together and blend it until a smooth mixture is formed.
Time to stir, swirl and serve!
And lastly, the fun step. Pour half of the matcha tea and milk liquid into the jar/glass then add a layer of blended smoothie mixture. Repeat the same step with matcha milk base and smoothie and then swirl it with a straw. Serve with raspberries and enjoy!
